A couple of hundred metres uphill on the Cateran path from Spittal of Glenshee stands a stone memorial which would look quite at home in the nearby kirk-yard. In fact, this memorial stone, set up a little over a century ago, is … “In memory of Jubra, only a dog … but loving friend of his master’s mother and his master, faithful, obedient and affectionate companion for ten long years … born in the NWP India … died at Caenlochan” – the name Jubra coming from a small area not far from India’s border with Nepal.
